Rounding up our 2023
Since our inception, our community has always recognized Armenia’s potential as a travel destination. Despite the significant challenges faced this year by Armenia and Artskah, 2023 was a record breaking year for travel to Armenia.
As of October, over 2 million travelers have visited the country, setting a new record even before the year’s end, and marking 2023 as a transitional year for the industry.
Yet problems still exist, both for international travelers and small local businesses working in tourism. Travelers have a difficult time discovering and accessing unique experiences in Armenia. Local entrepreneurs, meanwhile, either have ideas for extraordinary travel experiences but lack the resources to turn them into a reality, or have an existing product that needs fine tuning.
We made significant strides in 2023 to achieve our mission of making Armenia the #1 destination in the South Caucasus, thanks to support from you, our strategic local and international partners, and our network of local travel and hospitality experts we’re proud to collaborate with. Here’s a wrap up of our 2023 with you, and if you like the work we do, consider making a tax-deductible donation to help keep us going.
1. We received 106 bookings received and showed 429 guests an unforgettable time in Armenia with 2492 Travel, our for-purpose travel brand.
2. We donated 1,052,000 AMD ($2,616) from 2492 bookings donated to the Arpa Protected Landscape and the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, two local wildlife conservation organizations, so they can keep Armenia’s nature wild.
3. We won a 2023 Regenerative Travel Impact Award in the Food & Agriculture category for our Wild Food Adventures.
4. We accelerated 23 new experiences in the Shirak, Lori, and Tavush provinces.
5. We conducted 10 expert trainings in marketing and sales, business operations management, costing and pricing, social media management and advertising, storytelling, and cultural heritage representation.
6. We provided 31 small businesses with marketing support, including: brand identity development, video & photo production, influencer marketing, registration on booking platforms, 1 month social content plans.
