Tune In to the Sounds of the Wild with Mountain Therapy by North Adventures
“Sit back and tune in to the sounds of the wild…”
Where? In Ashotsk, one of Armenia’s most remote environments located up north in Shirak Province. It was here where Tigran Petrosyan, co-founder of North Adventures, fell in love with nature, experiencing first hand its tranquility and feeling himself in harmony with the land.
Made up of 8 Shirak locals passionate about snowkiting and other extreme sports, North Adventures was established to help Armenia realize its potential for winter recreation and sports. They became interested in the concept of silent tourism, and began bringing out tables and chairs with them to integrate relaxation time into the experiences they offered.
The idea for this new experience, called Mountain Therapy, came from a desire to share their own experiences in nature with others. Tigran still remembers the sensations from his own winter adventures, like the sound of cracking ice on a frozen lake or the striking imagery of marigolds blooming in a stream in late winter.
With Mountain Therapy, you’ll will head to the mountains, where panoramic views inspire awe, and settle into a cozy armchair and enjoy a glass of wine with local snacks and a selection of herbal teas as you soak in the sounds of a rushing river or the rustle of leaves — the music of nature. You’ll be able to choose your preferred environment, whether that be an open field, a riverbed, or a mountain, during the day, night, sunrise, or sunset. Soon, this experience — along with 8 others — will be available to book on the new platform we’re building right now for 2492 Travel, our for-purpose arm.
Mountain Therapy by North Adventures is coming to life as part of our “Inside Armenia: Enhancing Tourism Experiences” project, supported through the EU4Business “Innovative Tourism and Technology Department for Armenia (ITTD)” project which is co-funded by the EU and the BMZ, and implemented by GIZ.
